The food we eat has a huge impact on how healthy our skin is. Since our skin is the largest organ we have, it needs a lot of TLC. If you can go the majority of your life eating enough Vitamins D, C and A, you can go a long way towards a younger appearance, assuming you avoid smoking and excessive sunlight, as well.

Diet and Aging: Can A Diet Actually Make Us Look Younger?

It isn't so much about looking younger as it is about giving our skin the proper elasticity so that it is healthier and subsequently younger looking. Before you begin to focus on how we can eat our way to a younger looking appearance, it is extremely important that you understand that other things play a larger role. If you smoke, there isn't enough healthy food in the world that can give your skin a youthful appearance. The same goes for sun damage. If you aren't taking care of your skin on the outside, it won't matter what you do on the inside.

Vitamins to Reduce Wrinkles

The same goes for the amount of sleep you get every night. You must give yourself time to heal and repair; if you don't, your skin's appearance will suffer. As far as eating right for your skin, you want to take a three pronged attack. Start with foods that are rich in vitamin A, such as eggs and spinach. You also want to arm yourself with a healthy diet full of vitamin C. We all know a big glass of orange juice every day can help you get there. Vitamin C helps your skin repair itself and actually helps heal wounds faster. Finally, you need a steady intake of vitamin D. Milk is a great source of vitamin D, as well as mushrooms.
