Fresh Tomato Salsa and Avocados
If you love eating chips and dip during the big game, but worry about your waistline, you're in luck. This tomato salsa and avocados recipe is the right way to get game day started.
If you love those foods on football Sunday, but hate the extra calories and fat, here is a recipe from BistroMD’s Chef K, that puts a different play on the typical chips and dip.
You will need:
4 plum tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 small, sweet onion, diced
2 jalepeno peppers, seeded and diced
1/2 chopped finely chopped cilantro
1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
1 haas avocado, cleaned and diced
1 lime, for juice
A pinch of sea salt
Preparation:
For this healthy twist on a football favorite, all you have to do is combine all of the above ingredients, and chill it in your refrigerator for about one hour.
Pair with a bag of low fat corn chips, and you are ready to start snacking on game day!
