In a world where the answers to all of our questions are at our fingertips—literally—with the computer keyboard and our smart phones—the answer to how to lose weight fast and safe still seems to elude us. 

There are hundreds of diet books, safety regulations and success stories out there; however, it still seems difficult to find a program that works for your body, lifestyle and weight loss goals.  The following tips and suggestions can be incorporated into your life so you can lose weight fast and safe.

Set realistic expectations and goals

The first step to achieving your weight loss goals are to set realistic expectations and goals.  Trying to lose one hundred pounds in two weeks or to drop five pounds in a single day is almost impossible and is NOT safe.  Also, pushing yourself too hard and cutting out too many calories can damage your long term health and lead to other medical problems.  Instead, aim to lose one or two pounds a week at a consistent pace.  This will not only keep you safe but you are more likely to keep the weight off as well.         

Cut out empty calories

Once you’ve set your goals, work toward them by cutting out empty calories.  Empty calories are calories that offer no nutritional value.  Examples of empty calories are soda, sugary gum, extra helpings of dessert and pre-dinner bread.  By cutting out these foods, you will consume fewer calories in a day and you will lose weight fast and safe.

Improve your diet

After you have stopped eating empty calories, you can focus on improving your diet.  Improve your diet by always eating breakfast, not eating fast food and by eating healthy snacks throughout the day.  Also, add in more vegetables as they are nutrient rich and low in calories.

Exercise regularly

Exercise helps burn calories, improves your metabolism and gives you more energy.  Incorporate regular exercise into your daily routine by exercising when you first wake up or by walking whenever it’s convenient.   Also you can join a gym or get an exercise buddy.

Although there is no magic formula to help you lose weight fast and safe, you can get the results you want by making some daily changes and working toward your goals each day.  Start by setting goals and cutting out empty calories, and then improve your diet, stress, and sleep. Finally, set an exercise routine that you can stick to.
