When did bistroMD start?
BistroMD was developed by founding physician, Caroline J. Cederquist, M.D. in 2005 at her medical weight loss clinic. She noticed that many of her patients were lost when it came to planning and cooking healthy meals at home. Patients said how time consuming and frustrating dieting could be. Since 2005, we have worked to empower people to take control of their health in a simple & convenient way.
What can you tell me about your food and menus?
We serve the same natural food that we eat at our own tables. We only work with farmers and vendors who share our love of land and, of course, food.
Dr. Cederquist works closely with the chefs to create each entree. At any given time, we have over 150 entrees to customize from.
Unlike other diet delivery programs, we don't serve tiny portions or freeze dried foods; just the best ingredients for a better you.
What is Dr. Cederquist's background?
Dr. Cederquist has 20 years of experience as a board certified, Bariatric Specialist which is a specialty of medical weight management. It's through her extensive work with patients that Caroline developed the nutritional foundation for bistroMD, focusing on the right balance of macronutrients in the diet.
What science is involved in this program?
The science involved centers around Metabolic Dysfunction and the way your hormones affect your metabolism. All entrees have been designed to get your body the right balance of macronutrients.
What is Metabolic Dysfunction?
It is a very common metabolism condition that makes weight easy to gain and hard to lose. It is influenced by hormonal changes that impact your metabolism and how your body is able to use nutrients in your food. Some causes are: aging & menopause, genetics, belly fat, medications, and nutritional deficiencies. BistroMD helps reset your metabolism to ensure you're able to lose weight and keep it off.
