Curry Chicken with Cous Cous

What a sight! Indian food is filled with bright colors, unique flavors, and intriguing history. To indulge in the flavors of this exotic dish, though, you don't need to travel across the Indian Ocean. Let BistroMD bring the flavor of India to your door with our curry chicken and tri-colored cous cous! We all know that India's culinary masters use a variety of exotic spices, and unique side dishes to create great-tasting cuisine. One of the most flavorful ingredients used to create artful Indian cuisine is curry.

Curry is a blend of various spices that is a staple in Indian food culture. Most curry is a blend of several different types of spices, including turmeric, cumin, coriander, and red pepper.

To create such a powerful flavor that bursts throughout each bite of chicken, our chef creates a special marinade that includes garlic, black pepper, and lemon juice. The speckles of black pepper in the marinade give it a special kick, which blends in nicely with the rich flavor of the garlic, and the tanginess of the lemon juice. The chicken is slowly marinated, while the curry powder is roasted in the oven to bring out the depth of its bold spices. Once the curry is finished roasting, it is combined with some light coconut milk and just a dash of cilantro. The smooth texture of the coconut milk, combined with its sweet taste, create a balance of sweet and spice, oh how indulgently nice!

Our tri-colored cous cous is what makes our curry chicken dish soar. Cous cous has been a staple in North African cuisine for thousands of years. Most cous cous is made from semolina flour, but different cultures season their cous cous with different spices. For example, Tahitians are known for seasoning their cous cous with a special chili spice called harissa, Algerians use tomatoes for theirs, and Moroccans kick their cous cous up with saffron. The cous cous used in our curry chicken dish is a combination of spinach, tomato, and semolina cous cous. The bold green color of the spinach, and the vibrant red color of the tomato, put a splash of color into our cous cous that is unlike anything you have ever seen, or tasted. Our cous cous is certain to brighten your day with its bold colors and fantastic flavor.

To add more color into the mix, our chef pairs our beautiful curry chicken and vibrant cous cous with a palette of perfectly sliced julienne carrots. The smooth texture of the carrots, along with the rich flavor of the cous cous, and the spice of our curry chicken, will make you feel like you are sitting in the heart of India enjoying an authentic meal that is rich in color and rich in history!
