As the timeline of history keeps opening new doors, more and more technological advances are being created and large corporations keep putting new video games and technology on the market. As these new advances are placed on the market, many kids of all ages purchase these items due to a new-found addiction to video games which has grown over the past 30 years.

More and more kids each year tend to spend more time indoors and less time outdoors getting exercise. Nowadays, kids tend to have addictions to internet and video games which is helping to cause a higher rate of obesity in children because they are becoming less active outdoors. While children’s health is on the descent, it is important for people to try and support and motivate kids to exercise more often.

With child obesity tripling over the past 30, it is important for kids to get back on the right track. Some ways that families can help with this problem is by having family encourage their kids to play sports and exercise in a fun, non pressure environment. By not pressuring a kid into exercising too hard, a kid can learn to enjoy exercising and look forward to it.

Family can set incentives by rewarding their kids for exercising or doing chores, not with candy or food, but with cool gifts such as a CD or small item- Kids of all weights and athletic ability can it just depends on their interests. By trying to let the kid decide his interests, it can help the kid to enjoy the type of sport or exercise that he is getting which will help him to enjoy it and live a healthier lifestyle. Another way parents can help to encourage exercise is by limiting screen-time to an hour or less a day.

By offering incentives and encouraging for exercise for kids in a kind way, families can help reduce the 1 in 5 ratio of obese and can help to increase their children’s health before new problems arise.
