At Bistro M.D. we have no unrealistic ideas about what it means to lose weight safely and effectively, but we do recognize the desire of brides and grooms to find an appropriate pre wedding diet. The main point you need to remember before endeavoring to lose weight is that you can succeed. Approach your pre wedding diet with confidence and determination, and you will find there are truly no goals you cannot achieve. The following are some useful dieting tips to help you get ready for your big day!

Firstly, many health professionals have discovered the benefits of eating regular, healthy meals. There is a plethora of scientific evidence to support the idea that skipping meals or eating irregularly can actually slow metabolism and prevent weight loss. By eating small, healthy meals regularly throughout the day you can increase metabolic rates and burn more calories.

Next, when you’re on your pre wedding diet you really should avoid fast foods, fatty foods, and sweets. OK, so we all love a treat every now and again -- and at Bistro M.D. we don’t consider this a crime. In fact, without allowing yourself the occasional treat you may set yourself up for failure. Keep in mind though; the key word here is occasional. You can even use special treats as a motivator. For example, if you have succeeded at achieving one of your goals, you can reward yourself with a nice slice of your favorite cake. Eating these types of foods though should not become a regular habit because fatty or sugary foods are very high in calories and will prevent you from reaching your ideal wedding weight.

In addition to cutting down on high-calorie foods, your pre wedding diet should be full of fruits and vegetables because they are rich in vitamins and nutrients, provide a lot of energy, and are low in calories. By eating more fruits and vegetables we are able to feel full without consuming a high calorie diet. Also, when you’re shopping for foods, you need to pay close attention to food labels. Food labels give us valuable information about the amount of sugar, fat, and calories in a given product and can help us plan an appropriate diet.

Finally, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to achieve your goals. Weight loss is a gradual process and the Bistro M.D. pre wedding diets were developed around this fact. In order to lose weight in a healthy, safe and stable manner you should try to lose no more than a pound or two per week. This means if you plan to lose 20 pounds you’ll need to give yourself at least 3 months on your pre wedding diet. Never be discouraged by a poor performance one week since weight loss can be affected by many variables. Instead, try to use a poor week as motivation to work harder the next week. You’ll be looking fabulous for your wedding in no time!
