Vitamin D is stored in fat tissue so the more you gain the fewer vitamin is free for the bloodstream. Vitamin D not only absorbs calcium, it also can improve sensitivity to insulin. People with higher levels of Vitamin D are less likely to have diabetes. Additionally, Vitamin D deficiency may lead to high blood pressure, stroke, breast cancer, and many other serious health issues.

I suggest adding Vitamin D as a supplement to your bistroMD program. The recommended dose varies so discuss your options with your physician. I suggest 2,000 IU/day, just make sure it's D3 not D2.
