Childhood Obesity
Childhood obesity is a growing problem in the United States. In recent years, the number of children who are considered obese has skyrocketed. A child is considered to be obese when his or her weight exceeds the normal range for his or her height and age group. More and more, diseases which used to be confined to the ranks of the adult population, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, are becoming prevalent in our children. It is important for parents to understand that there are options available to stop, and eventually reverse, their child’s weight gain. The articles presented in this section are written exclusively on the topic of childhood obesity, and are supported by the expertise of Caroline J. Cederquist, M.D., one of the nation’s leading weight loss physicians.
