The Skinny on Hollywood Diets
Everyone wants to look as fit as the celebrities in Hollywood. We tell ourselves that they are paid to look good, that they have chefs and dieticians, personal trainers and plastic surgeons, not to mention drugs, to help them manage their weight. Well that is true, for some celebrities, however, the majority of healthy celebrities manage their weight by making healthy choices just like we try to do every day. The difference is the celebrities know the secret toHollywood diets. The secret to losing weight and maintaining your weight is simple, and probably advice that you have heard before. e Hollywood diets do not take the place of discipline and hard work. There are no shortcuts here, just good advice.
The secret I am referring to is that if you want to lose weight, you have to eliminate simple carbohydrates from your diet. No sugar, no white flour, no high fructose corn syrup. If you want to lose weight, fill up on lean proteins (chicken, fish, lean cuts of beef, egg whites) and fruits and vegetables. Most berries are naturally low on the glycemic index, and cantaloupe has been said to lower blood sugar, so these are good choices when controlling carbohydrates. Once you have reached your weight loss goal, you can add back in some more carbohydrates, whole grains such as quinoa, barley, oatmeal, whole grain pastas and whole grain breads.
Of course it is tempting to take things to the extreme and cut carbs completely out of your diet, but that is not healthy, and a diet lacking in complex carbohydrates will be detrimental to your digestion, your heart health, and is even said to accelerate the ageing process. In addition, it is far easier to sustain healthier choices with carbohydrates then to cut them out totally. Someone who has gone for months without carbs is far more likely to binge on a bowl of pasta or baked goods than someone who allows themselves the occasional treat made with whole grains.
We have all heard stories about the occasional Hollywood actress who manages her weight with the use of drugs or starving themselves or some crazy fad diet, but unfortunately these stars are not the ones who look radiant or age gracefully. Health and beauty work from the inside out, and all too often those with unhealthy habits start to look tired or worn out far too soon. The real secret to Hollywood diets is to treat yourself well, get proper nutrition, and get regular exercise.
