Anne Hathaway is, without question, a media darling. Known as one of the most talented and gifted actresses of her generation, the starlet is also known for getting fit and getting smart with her own Anne Hathaway diet.

Getting Smart for a “Fitting” Role

Starring opposite of Steve Carell in the 2009 film Get Smart, Anne Hathaway had to get extremely fit to play the role of sexy spy, Agent 99.

Along with a well-balanced diet packed with protein, Anne got into shape with the help of famous Hollywood trainer, Romona Braganza, who has worked with some of Hollywood’s best bodies, including Jessica Alba.

In conjunction with her diet, Anne Hathaway was in the gym at least five times a week to prepare for the role that would have her slinging guns, and going toe-to-toe with muscular men.

Channeling her inner stunt woman, Hathaway utilized a workout for the film that prepared her for some exciting stunts, as well as some very high-slit gowns. Anne took a lighter approach with her diet and mastered a variety of toning exercises, like thigh-lunges and squats.

To keep her arms in signature shape, Anne also utilized pull-ups and push-ups, and ran at least twenty minutes per day for some much-needed cardio.

Of her workout routine, Hathaway was quoted in People magazine as saying, “What I’m proudest of all is that I didn’t torture myself. I did it on my own terms.”

A “Smart” Approach to Dieting

Not only did Hathaway utilize her own diet and exercise plan to get in shape for Get Smart, she didn’t even dream of starving herself to gain muscle and shed fat.

Known as an actress who “never wants to lose her curves” Anne took the smart approach to eating, by enjoying a well-balanced diet.

In the morning, Hathaway would have egg white and steamed vegetable burritos in the morning. For the rest of her diet during the day, Anne always made sure that she ate consistently, and that all of her choices were healthy.

Regarding her film roles, Hathaway was quoted in People as saying, “When you’re working out and you’re so focused on a role, it doesn’t feel like you’re depriving yourself if you don’t have dessert, or if you skip bread at meals.”
